There is a time in all our lives

When there's an illness we cannot hide

That is why we are on stage with you

To help you see it and talk it through

What can we do, what can we say

To make this mental illness go away?

Mental illness can be seen as good or bad

It can be seen in some when they are very sad

It is hard to let this illness go

If you don't let your friends and family know

So watch us talk it out and work it through

And you'll see that we can be there for you

In shades of the eternal fight

I greet each waking day

Quite used by now to steady fright

That rides me 'long the way

So rare are any oases

Within the endless strife

I, weary, fare the crazy seas

Of schizophrenic life

"I think therefore I am" it's said

Our minds do us define

How sad then when that very head

Is illest on the vine

What did I do to deserve this?

The question rules my mind

What awful deed or evil twist

Condemns me to this kind?

I struggle and I struggle on

To seem the normal type

Hope vainly strives to bid fear gone

Through each new day and night

It takes each thing that I have got

To spurn the ready bait

And fend away the vile heart rot

That might turn fear to hate

Thank God for friends and family

With them I can stay sane

They show me all that I can be

Despite my mental cane

In end there is one final part

The mental bug can't touch

My Will drives me to fight on hard

Unhindered by the crutch
